Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI is a leading provider of critical decision support tools and services for the global investment community. Our Segment Strategy team plays a central role in ensuring that MSCI delivers the right solutions to the right clients, in the right way—rooted in deep understanding of client needs and industry dynamics. 

Your Key Ressponsibilities

  • Lead and evolve the GTM strategy for General Partners, aligning with MSCI’s commercial objectives and cross-functional execution. 
  • Define critical personas and key buying behaviors, surfacing pain points, growth levers, and solution needs across the private markets ecosystem. 
  • Shape the innovation agenda for GPs by contributing ideas from relevant direct experience, segment intelligence, client engagement, and market trends to the innovation repository. 
  • Assess and enhance existing offerings to ensure fit-for-purpose delivery, commercial competitiveness, and segment relevance. 
  • Collaborate across functions—Product, Marketing, Client Coverage, Research—to co-create client-centric value propositions and enable successful delivery. 
  • Drive feedback loops and telemetry tracking to surface actionable insights from firm-wide client interactions, GTM activities, and postmortems. 
  • Apply a segment lens in internal forums such as business line operating committees and facilitate a monthly segment lead cadence to drive momentum and visibility. 

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

  • Strong knowledge of the private credit, equity or alternatives landscape and the needs of private capital asset managers. 
  • Experience engaging and selling to senior stakeholders at GPs 
  • Strategic operator who can move from insight to execution, bridging client needs with internal capabilities. 
  • Experience crafting and executing client segment strategies, ideally within financial services or investment technology. 
  • Skilled at building consensus and driving cross-functional alignment in complex environments. 
  • Proven ability to synthesize feedback, data, and trends into go-to-market playbooks and product direction.
