Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI is seeking a Vice President, Index Finance to drive the financial management and financial operations of MSCI’s award winning Index business. With over $10 trillion worth of assets referencing our products, MSCI’s Indexes facilitate the construction and monitoring of our clients portfolios in a cohesive and complete manner, powering better investment decisions for a better world. At MSCI, our clients include many of the world’s largest Asset owners and Asset managers, as well as the world’s leading Banking and Trading organizations, Hedge Funds, Wealth managers, Insurers, and many more. The Vice President, as part of Index Finance, Tax, Accounting, will partner closely with the MSCI Index Product team, which is responsible for the ongoing construction and commercialization of all MSCI Market Cap, Factor, Thematic, Custom and ESG and Climate Indexes for both Equity and Fixed Income. This role will primarily support our Subscription recurring revenue stream, where we license our indexes for a broad range of investment use cases from benchmarking and reporting to developing customized investment strategies across multiple investment data points and attributes. We also license our indexes as the basis for investment products such as exchange traded funds, institutional and retail funds, direct indexing, exchange-listed futures and options, and other derivative contracts.

Your Key Ressponsibilities

The Vice President will be part of a global Finance, Tax, Accounting team, with team members largely based out of New York and Mumbai, collectively responsible for the financial management and financial leadership of MSCI’s award winning Index business. Reporting to the Index Finance Director, this role will serve as a leading member of the Index Finance, Tax, Accounting team, responsible for the financial management of the Subscription recurring revenue stream and enhancing and driving our capital allocation frameworks. The Vice President will also be responsible for advancing key Finance, Tax, Accounting initiatives as part of the Index Finance team: · In this role they will generate commercial insights for global Product leaders regarding opportunities and challenges, and use performance metrics and analysis to help inform critical business decisions · They will help drive execution of our operating plan initiatives, and optimize our Subscription recurring revenue stream by analyzing the data for key trends and delivering actionable insights · They will also enhance our capital allocation frameworks by developing a deep understanding of our operating model and leveraging data to guide leadership decisions around resourcing and investment The Index Finance team also works closely with the Index Product organization on all strategic initiatives. The Vice President will contribute to this effort through advanced modeling and financial analysis, and help to effectively communicate through presentations and materials for senior management, and C-suite level stakeholders. The Index Finance, Tax, Accounting team further collaborates across the broader organization, from Technology and Data, to Research, Investor Relations, FP&A and Controllership, Legal, and others, and the Vice President will be responsible for an active role in collaborating with peers across these functions.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

· Drive proactive financial management and insight into the economics of our Subscription recurring revenue stream to drive growth and operating efficiencies, on an ongoing basis· Develop analyses and frameworks to provide commercial and business insights using data in order to better identify and execute financial management initiatives, on an ongoing basis. This includes:· Analyze franchise performance and present on the trends and drivers across products, partners, and across client segments and regions· Analyze the competitive landscape to assess pricing, product mix, distribution channels, and develop metrics to track performance and measure the impact of business decisions · Support the development and enhancement of our pricing strategy, and our commercial terms and incentives, geared towards developing scalable commercial and licensing models for our clients· Analyze market and capital allocation dynamics and link those to business drivers and performance attribution · Contribute to the development and execution of the long-term strategy of the Subscription recurring revenue stream· Build business partnerships with Index Product leaders and key stakeholders across other business lines and functional areas · Maintain and enhance sophisticated forecasting models to assist in strategic and financial planning including annual operating plan, and ongoing P&L forecasting of the Subscription recurring revenue stream – a key input to the firm’s overall financial outlook and management · Lead the team to drive approach, progression, and completion of several deliverables across multiple timelines · Handle large amounts of data, establish processes and build recurring analyses to improve forecasting, performance tracking, and business decision making· Prepare strategic materials, product P&Ls and scorecard reports internally, as well as presentations for C-suite and Board of Directors· Contribute to an inclusive work environment and act as strong team player
