Your Team Responsibilities

MSCI, Inc. seeks Executive Director, Real Assets Solutions Research in New York, NY to work with an industry leading research team to analyze topics of interest to institutional investors, with a focus on private asset markets.

Your Key Ressponsibilities

Contribute to and execute the Real Assets Applied Research Agenda. Demonstrate depth of MSCI's global real assets database. Add value to new and innovative research to help clients better understand the drivers of real assets performance, within the MSCI database. Develop insights drawn from data sets to help clients solve investment problems. Fulfill the research agenda through real assets research and publishing online blogs, white papers and representing MSCI at industry events. Deliver research to clients directly through regular client interactions. Operate closely with client coverage teams to contribute to the client interaction strategy and educate and inform clients on MSCI's latest research. Develop MSCI’s Factors for Private Real Estate Framework to apply the intellectual property MSCI has developed in equities, Fixed income and multi-asset class risk and performance analysis to private real estate portfolios. Provide technical development of methodology and collaborate with product development teams to assess how to apply the analysis to client portfolios at scale. Engage with primarily asset manager and asset owner clients to help them effectively leverage MSCI’s data and tools in their investment processes including participating in adapting standard products with adjustments to methodology.

Your skills and experience that will help you excel

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Economics, Finance, Business, or a related field and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related occupation: performing technical data analysis to synthesize analytical concepts in a simple manner for non-technical audiences; and performing statistical analyses of primary, non-aggregated real estate mortgage data. Five (5) years of experience must include: utilizing data science and statistical software and programming languages including R and Python to analyze data to identify investment trends; visualizing data and creating prototype analytical dashboards; develop methodologies for indexes and performance/risk measures; developing models to analyze performance and risk; and liaising with senior executives at real estate asset owner and asset management organizations including working with business models, operational models, investment problems, and providing solutions. 15% travel required nationally. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. When not telecommuting, must report to work site. Offered salary is between $174,000 and $230,000 per year.
